This is a survey course that provides the scientific fundamentals of the current understanding of nutrition.
Welcome to Nutrition 405: Nutrition in Health and Disease, a three–credit, senior–level course designed to introduce you to the methods used in carrying out nutrition research, the role of diet in the causation of diseases (particularly chronic diseases related to lifestyle), life cycle nutrition, exercise nutrition, and the critical evaluation of nutrition information.
The course provides an in-depth understanding of topics valuable to a well-rounded understanding of nutrition and presents recent developments in the field. In addition, students will enhance their ability to write a critical evaluation of topics in nutrition.
